REI Co-op - Drypoint GTX Jacket - Women's Plus Sizes

Category: Women's Jackets

Sooo disappointed. I really wanted a GoreTex jacket and this one was everything I had hoped for. BUT - it doesn't fit, it's too small. Every other REI 3X raincoat fit me in the store, so it's not like REI does not understand women's sizing. This one is mislabeled - buy a size larger than you normally do. Unfortunately, there is no size larger than 3X. So I do not get a lovely GoreTex jacket after all.

Like the jacket looks. But it seems to run 2-3 sizes small! Doesn’t take into account female hips. Also wish it had a zipper at bottom to zip upwards. Will hope to exchange for larger size

Wonderful GTX material, gorgeous color. Wind and rain proof, and over layers it’d be great for nearly any nonextreme (weather and activity) winter conditions. My only complaint is that the zippers are a bit difficult to close. I think it’s because of the Goretex, and it might get easier. But this is still the best rain shell I’ve ever had.

So like another recent reviewer, I was very nervous whether this jacket would fit based on a number of the reviews. I am between 1X and 2X on top and my bottom runs 1-2 sizes larger...but this jacket does fit and has enough room for a layer or two. Just to give you an idea, the Drypoint GTX Pants in 2X just fit over the cords I had on...but the 3X were super large. Thus, I would say that as others have commented, the jacket is smaller than the pants but I am one of the lucky ladies where this jacket does work! Now REI when will you get GoreTex Pro for Plus Size???

This jacket is perfect for short waisted gals. It's lightweight and doesn't sweat when you exercise in it, even in heavy rain. Good for biking if you wear a ball cap under the hood, fits snug around the face area and keeps the rain out. A+++ My only complaint is it's hard to get the pocket zippers up and down: they're placed a little too far back. It's a very minor complaint. This is an awesome jacket.

My experience is that the fit is perfect with plenty of ease to layer over a thick fleece jacket for winter hiking. Definitely keeps the wind/rain/snow at bay. Love it! (I'm really glad that I took a chance with this one...I almost didn't after reading the other reviews.)

I've worn this jacket in just about every condition. I keep it with me pretty much all the time. It folds up into it's own pocket. You won't swelter too bad in hot humid rain and it's a life saver in cold windy rain. I've been at events where other people were soaked through in their rain jackets and I stay dry.

I really like the material of this jacket, the green color was great, but it runs small. I wear a 20/22 across most brands and I can only just make the 3X zip with a sweater under it. I wanted to be able to wear layers under it while hiking and kayaking and that is not going to happen so back it goes. If you wear an 18/20 - the 3X will likely work for you. I hope this jacket is reissued with more inclusive sizing!

it was suggested that it runs small through the hips. If you are a very hippy person maybe but I think it runs true to size. I have to take it back because it is way too big.

I have searched for years for a good quality plus size rain jacket. I am a curvy woman, but I like clothes to feel fitted. This one is perfect!

Perfect for fishing, hiking or riding my motorcycle.

For a Florida girl, this wet/cold gear is new to me. Here, it doesn't matter if you get wet. You welcome all wind to cool you off. Planning a hiking trip to Alaska is a new fontier in hiking for me! But everywhere I looked, the shells my reasearch told me would be best were at least 5 inches too small at the waist measurement. I wear a size 16/18, waist currently at 40 inches, with a bust of 38F so also fitting the ladies in without having to size up and look like I'm wearing a tent is very important too. I finally asked all my Washington and Colorado people where they shop- REI. I purchased the 2x in Nightsea and it's great. On arrival, it was raining, so I zipped up and walked the dogs. Was nice and dry and, for a wonder, did not have that sweltering, sweaty, sauna feel at all (normally any plastic on my skin results in instant sweat and heat rashes). Bonus, it is roomy and not too snug, which allows for layers if needed, and I can sit down without looking like the Michelin Man! I'm only 5'1" so of course the sleeves are long but the velcro at the wrist lets me adjust them so they aren't hanging if I want. I was very nervous about buying without trying on (there are only two stores in FL, the nearest REI is 2 hours away) but I am VERY pleased with this offering and now my husband is jealous of my fantastic jacket...
