Mountain House - Raspberry Crumble - 4 Servings

Category: Camp Kitchen

The best dessert EVER for camping (and even for home use!). Real raspberries, yum yum. Tastes like warm fresh fruit.

Over the years we have brought many different desserts on our canoe camping trips to the BWCAW. Now, this is the only one that gets packed. You will not find a better product, or more satisfying (tasty) dessert. We pack one for each day and it feeds the four of just fine - great compliment to fresh walleye and vegetables (ok and some good scotch too...).

My grandfather and I would eat raspberries right out of the garden when I was younger, so I was skeptical on them coming out of a pouch but it was delicious. We will continue to buy this item.

We really wanted to splurge on a dessert on a recent backpacking trip but there were only two of us, and this dessert package serves 4 people. So we used it as one of our two entrees. The flavor was great, and a nice change from the usual entrees, but the 4-serving size was really TOO much. It would be nice if Mountain House offered this in a 2-person size.

I was a little sceptical about this one; it sounded a little too good to be true, but this stuff is amazing! it tastes very fresh which was a huge plus, it was one of those meals you never forget because it was so dang good! it also, like many other freeze dried foods, did not take long to make and was easy to clean up!

This was an excellent dessert. It tastes great, is easy to prepare and takes up very little room in the pack (slides along edge, between items to take up every inch of space well).

We took this on a hiking trip to Hawaii. Glad we took two pouches - disappointed we didn't have a third. One pouch really did serve 4. It was delicious - so much better than expected. Perfect dessert at the end of a long day. Will buy more to keep at home and for child in dorm to enjoy during studies.

This is one of my standby breakfasts when i'm packing light or need to get an early start with no time to cook. I like their granola with blueberrys best but this is a close second.

Plenty to share. Great with or without the chocolate cookie crumble. A must on every overnight trip. Pretty much has replaced smores, without all the hassle.

I'm part of a group that backpacks together yearly- this is one of the desserts that we all either bring or envy= yummy and a great treat!

I might request this in lieu of birthday cake this year. We passed it around camp and everyone thought it was decadent and delicious.

Love Mt. House meals. This was easy to prep and quite yummy. You must be okay with raspberry seeds however.

Very easy to make and more yummy than most desserts. Makes a lot though.

Had this for dessert on Lake Shoshone (Yellowstone) one night.

My family loves sweets, but this desert often goes to waste, even in the middle of nowhere. It is like eating slightly gelled raspberry syrup with a stingy topping. One of our favorite deserts of all time is the Neopolitan Ice Cream, so it's not that we don't like Mountain House. This product needs to be retired, and a real chef needs to design something better.

We bought this with a smile and low hopes, and smiled again as we shared it back and forth, not always sharing too evenly. The crumbles were a little bit of a strange texture, but tasted good. The raspberry tasted pretty authentic, and all four of us admitted we could have this as a desert at home and enjoy it. That's a success when you figure the creative cooking power of this group.

Personally, I would much rather spend my money on something else. Worth trying once. It's one of those things you either love or hate. Large quantity. Tried at home to see if I wanted to take on a trip with me took us 2 days to eat 1/2 of it but threw the rest away because we were over it. Sugar with cookie crumbs, that's what it tastes like.

Did a weekend trip in the Trinity Alps with my wife. She chose this as a dessert. I usually don't eat desserts when backpacking, but I decided to go along. I was pleasantly surprised that the dessert had pretty good raspberry flavor and the chocolate crumble was not overpowering. I would have this again on the trail.

This was my kid's favorite camping treat growing up. It made the age when they were being dragged camping by their parents bearable. Recently we had a reunion, they are in their twenties now and they asked if we could have raspberry crumble! I can't wait to share it with my Grandkids.

This was amazing! After a long day of hiking, it was seriously the best backpacking dessert ever. I'm still craving it a week later. I think you probably could get four servings, but my husband and I split it and wouldn't have wanted to share with anyone else. Absolutely delicious!

Went backpacking this summer with a camp. It was a tradition to make like 4 packages of this in a big pot and we'd all sit around the fire with spoons, take a heaping spoonful, and pass it on. It would only make its way around like 2 times, but it was so great.

First off always bring a measuring cup while backpacking. We forgot that so the first night we had this it was like pudding. Still good. The next time we dialed it in and it was our favorite. Just brightens your evening up

Taste wasn't as good as anticipated. Not bad, just not a favorite. Texture too gooey/slimy. Cookie crumbs weren't enough to improve the texture. Less like real fruit than anticipated - too much "sauce", not enough raspberries.

This crumble was such a pleasant surprise! It was easy to make and a very generous serving size. The flavor was OUTSTANDING. We had this for breakfast but could have been enjoyed as a dessert-really sweet.

Was in the army for 5 years , and 3 years guards , old mres were ok but new one were realy good , and the meals from mountain house are even better , realy enjoy them for the last 20 + years .

We purchased a dessert as a surprise for our family of six and prepared it on day two of our backpack trip. I would buy this again and I would even prepare it at home. It was so yummy!!

I try to find the good in bad things, but this is awful. It has a very sour and medicine aftertaste. The only good you will be eating is the oreo crumble.

Easy to prepare - two of us wolfed this sweet treat down after a day of hard hiking. A fruity gloop with crunchy topping. It warmed and filled tums!

This one is very easy to make and tastes really good. We've had us several times. The last time we added berries we found on the trail. Mmmm

Our family of 4 gives this scores of 4, 4 (me), and 4 with one abstention. Good flavor and filling. Great way to warm up on a cold evening.

So bad, I can't think of the words. We were highly disappointed in this one, we usually love their meals and desserts.

Had this for breakfast one day. It was the best. Yes I know its listed as a dessert but it was breakfast like.

This is the best camp dessert ever. Not the smallest or lightest, but worth the effort. Highly recommended!

Raspberry crumble was very tasty after a long day of hiking, especially the chocolate cookie topping.

Four of us shared this dessert and it was a nice sweet treat after a day of hiking.

Easy to prepare and the taste is outstanding! Great size and weight for portion

This is a great dessert to end the day on after a long day of backpacking.

So freaking good! If you want a yummy messy dessert!
