I've had this jacket for a few years now and I find it perfect for most of winter here in Michigan.
everyone raves about arcteryx, so this was the first item of theirs i tried and was immediately struck by how comfortable it felt, like wearing nothing at all and that's why i got it. but in reality it's not super useful. wore it on a few northern california late summer evenings with a very slight breeze and it didnt provide much warmth or shield from the wind. i suppose it's meant for layering, but im even doubtful of it's effectiveness as a layer given it's performance in very mild weather. it is really comfortable though.
Bought this in NYC the other day. Paid off in spades, weather has been damp and cool. Jacket repeals light rain very nicely, breaks wind well and even keeps me a bit non the warm side. Notices if it gets a bit warm, I just slide up the sleeves a bit. Thought a bit pricey when I bought, but feel it was worth the purchase price.
First up, this jacket has specific uses. I know that. I have plenty of warmer down jackets.
Just used in the Rockies in cold high wind and blowing moisture up high.
I've had this thing for going on two years now. It is the perfect jacket for those mid-50s days.
Súper light, confortable, looks and feels great!
