YETI - LoadOut 5-Gallon Bucket

Category: Camp Kitchen

I received this as a gift, which I returned. I don't get it. It is not insulated and if you add a lid you have an $80 bucket. I took the refund and bought 4 buckets and gamma seal lids and still had money left over. I bring three buckets with me on my BWCA trips and carrying of these empty let alone filled would about kill me. But hey it is a YETI so it must be good right, or at least make you look cool sitting on a shelf in your garage unused.

After seeing Girl Scouts using 5 gallon Home Depot buckets as combination sit-a-pons and stuff organizer, I thought a sturdier version might be a great addition to my camping gear. With the YETI lid (sold separately) the load out bucket is a sturdy seat. It holds as much or more gear as I formerly stored in an Action Packer, safe from splashes and light rain. And, with the webbing handle, it only takes one hand to carry. Two thumbs up!

Really? You can't use one of THESE? And no, you can't just use a 5 gallon drywall bucket. Good luck strapping that to a center console, kayak, or drift boat. If you fish, you have to have one; if you boat, you have to have one; if you go camping, you have to have one; if you want to own a quality product, you have to have one. This bucket is the bomb!

I have used my full accessorized bucket non-stop. It just layers in your needed items better than any bag or large tote box. I bought one for a friend who loves it as well. I have been using it for different activities, but I think I’m going to grab a couple more so I can just grab and go.

I bought this bucket and the three accessories that go along with it: the lid, tray insert and utility wrap with the pockets. I currently live out of my car (and yes, I work full time) and car camp a lot as a result. This has helped me organize and keep things together in a extremely helpful way: toiletries in one pocket, dish soap and brushes in another, small odd and ends and snacks in the tray, cooking and dining gear as well as fuel stacked around in the bottom of the bucket -- the ultimate mess kit! I was hesitant to purchase due to cost, but I immediately perceived the quality and the possibilities with this bucket and its add-on items once I looked at it in person. I don't often write reviews, but this product simply deserves one, and a positive one at that. If I were rich, I'd buy many of these buckets and their add-ons to donate to people who have lost homes due to the fires or other natural or financial disasters. I can imagine that "preppers" would love this bucket and accessories too.

Yes this is overpriced, but everything Yeti is, and in my opinion almost worth it. All of the Yeti items I own are indestructible. This bucket is great and much more ergonomic than the “orange” big box store ones. Got the insert and the outer utility storage for it as well.

Advantages over a bucket you can buy at a hardware store are the cover, tray and side sleeve you can it to it. Great for toting ski tuning gear, or for the range. Comes with a huge ugly warning sticker that can only be removed with a heat gun.

I have 4 of these. Use 1 for each type of fishing I do here in Alaska. Durable, keeps ice, and wicked rigged. They do need to rethink the bags they sell for these. My only gripe.
