Patagonia - Stretch Rainshadow Jacket - Women's

Category: Women's Jackets

Girlfriend picked this product up at REI on sale. Looked great, fit great, felt great. Took it on a long day hike into the whites yesterday (Haystack/Lincoln/Lafayette loop). Not exactly a torrential downpour all day but bad weather. Misty, wet, and periods of intermittent wind driven rain. By the afternoon there was water inside her jacket. There was no water inside my LL Bean rainjacket- I was very wet but there wasn't wet INSIDE the jacket. I'm a huge fan of Patagonia but this seems like a fail.

Bought this jacket last spring with great hope.. I read the reviews but figured Patagonia would never call something a rain jacket if it was not waterproof.. it is not and has not been since I began wearing it... it does not even keep you dry in a light rain .. don’t buy this as a rain jacket... it does fit well and does work a awndbreaker to,some degree

I purchased this jacket just recently, so I haven't had a chance to test it in the rain yet. I like that it is very light, soft, breathable and has some stretch. I bought it large enough so I could layer underneath it, including a thick wool sweater. I like the pit zips and the hood that is big enough to fit over my bike helmet. The hood cinches down nicely.

I bought this jacket as a lightweight raincoat for a trip. After the first downpour, the shoulders soaked through. Bummer, because it is comfortable. At most, it is a good windbreaker, but not a raincoat as advertised. I bought it on sale, so I am not sure if I can return it, but will if I am able.

Positives: This jacket is light, stretchy, and packable and might work a a windbreaker. Negative: This jacket was wet through after less than 30 minutes of a June rain storm in the Cascades. Definitely not what I was hoping for, and I will be returning it!

I purchased this coat on a last minute prep before a trip to Israel since the forecast included rain on several days. I was pleased with the waterproof protection this jacket provided during my trip. I was in moderate rain on several occasions and I did not experience any wetness on the inside of the jacket. I was thankful for the pit zips for good ventilation on warmer days but did zip close during rain. Overall, I was very pleased with this jacket.

This is my 2nd attempt at purchasing this coat; I was hoping the previous one was just a bad model but it doesn't keep the rain out at all. The water soaks right through. Fits great, good material but doesn't do what it is supposed to do.

I get that it's supposed to fit over helmets, and it does have a single cinch for adjusting the fit. The problem is the fabric around the throat, which can't be closed or adjusted and will certainly let too much rain in. I'll keep looking.

I have one that I wear all the time, so this ones for my wife’s birthday! This jacket is very watertight except for the stupidity of a chest pocket with a nice watertight zipper but no watertight layer for that pocket! Other than that flaw, it is my goto running, hiking and

Bought this for a 500 mile backpacking trip. Lightweight and small enough to easily pack. Kept me dry in the rain and worked great for cooler, windy days as well.

I bought this a year ago. I got it on sale for $150, but it had been over $200. In both torrential downpours and running in relatively light rain I end up soaked. It completed ruined a weekend as it remained soaked the whole time and I didn’t have a rain jacket for a whole weekend in the rain. I love Patagonia in general, but this is not the jacket you want if your looking for something waterproof.

This jacket is extremely easy to pack. Packs very small and shake it out to wear looks great. I love the fit except it’s a little big in the hips for me but the adjustment is easy with the elastic pulls. Works well at stopping wind too. Rain stayed off of it too

This jacket has some nice features. It is quite thin and lightweight so it packs down to a small size. It has performed its waterproof function quite well so far and I have tested it many times in the rainy Oregon weather over the last month. The other thing I appreciate is the pockets. They close with zippers and are in the right places - side pockets for the hands and a breast pocket big enough to carry my cell phone. The fabric is thin and so far has resisted tears or punctures. Also it does not contribute to keeping you warm but I do recommend this as an outer shell. I bought it a size larger than I would normally get so I could wear it over another jacket. I give this jacket 4 out of 5 stars because I'm not sure how it's going to hold up in the long run but so far I am happy with it.

Love my new rain jacket! Great color and fit. Great protection from wind and rain.

This is a great raincoat. I haven't worn it in a downpour yet but it has held up well in light rain and wind. It is a beautiful color and just a little stretchy. Seemed to run a little big - I'm 5'7" and 130 lbs and got a small that I wouldn't want any bigger - its just right to fit a light down jacket underneath. The fabric doesn't seem as delicate as some lightweight raincoats and will hopefully hold up to inevitable jumping dogs.

Breathable, lightweight, soft, quiet when moving, easy to adjust.

Bought the jacket because I was traveling, ran into heavy rains, so needed a light weight jacket. Felt like if I was out longer than the hour or so that I was out, water would have seeped through. There was a bit of moisture already getting throug at the back. It is light weight and probably good for light rain.

Wish I had not believed the associate at REI and bought this jacket. It got soaked at the shoulders in a 40 minute run in the rain. Poor performance from merchandise and REI. Really sorry because I liked the fit and pockets

I bought this jacket for something light and rain proof at work and it works perfectly. The good blocks the rain and it keeps me dry and warm!!!! Love this brand

Nice style, color and fit. Comfortable. Only water resistant, not for anything more than a sprinkling. Fails at its intended purpose. Will be returning this item.

I bought this jacket and I love it. I use it every weekday for skiing, I chosen it from at least another 15 options and I’m so glad I did it!

I brought this jacket to Portugal with me and it has rained a lot! It is NOT waterproof! My selves and shoulders have gotten wet each time it has rained!

I love my new jacket very much. It is exactly what I was looking for.
